How to tie a belt on a coat
Or dress, or pants, or really any piece of apparel that gets tied around your waist for that matter.
Bow ties can be really cute on little kids (and sometimes on adults too.) But if you are aiming for a more sophisticated look, try this single looped belt instead.
Years ago while interning for a major fashion brand, one our our stylists let me in on a little trick that would achieve the perfect single looped belt that doesn't look bulky and lays nice and flat to your body.
It's super easy but there are a few important steps to follow.
Step One: Start with your first knot as normal. Easy enough, right?
Step Two: Here is where you need to pay attention. Make the loop with the end that lays above your waist, (not below the waist.)
Step Three: Wrap the loose end (hanging below your waist) behind your loop. This will create a hole for you to slip this same end through. (Making a second knot.)
Step 4: Pull
Viola! You have the perfect single loop belt that lays flat to your body.
